<text>earch:This Search feature will help you find documents and files related to a particular list of keywords. The result of any search is a list of files located anywhere in this Stack.Creating Your Search String:To create your search string, type words to search for or select them from the scrollable list of keywords. You can use both techniques within any search string. The list of keywords is sorted alphabetically. For example, to find all files whose description cards contain the keyword HyperCard, scroll the keyword field down to HyperCard. Click it to include it in your search string. You can use the asterisk (*) to create wildcard keywords. These will match with all keywords that begin with the wildcard string. For example “Laser*” will match with all keywords that begin with “Laser”. You can also include Boolean operators, or “modifiers” in your search string. These include And, Or, and Not. The format of a search string using modifiers is :Word1 <modifier> Word2The And operator will look for all files that contain both Word1 and Word2 without establishing any relationship between the two words. Or will find all files that contain either Word1 or Word2 or both words. And Not will find all files that contain Word1 and specifically do not contain Word2. If you enter two words without a modifier between them, the search feature will look for all files that contain those two words together. To enter a modifier, you can either type it in, or click one of the modifiers displayed next to the label Modifiers.Searching:Once your search string is ready, start the search by clicking the “Find” button (now underneath this Help field), or by pressing Return. The keywords you entered are compared to the fields on the information cards in this stack. Most searches will be completed within several seconds. If the search is taking a long time, and you want to stop it, click the stop sign button that is immediately above the running man. You will be notified if there is a problem with the syntax of your search string. The Results of a Search:The list of all of the files and folders found will be displayed in the scrolling field at the bottom of the Search card. The number of files found as a result of the search (the number of “hits”) is displayed above the list. Accessing the Files:Click on any name to go to that information card. When you click Search again from the information card, the results of the last search will still be visible, allowing you to click another destination information card.</text>
